Best Tarot Apps: How to Choose One in 2026

By Julie Zhu · Published 5 November 2026 · 4 min read

There are many tarot apps, and the right one depends on whether you want to learn, keep a journal or simply pull a card each morning. This guide explains what to look for and describes three apps using only facts from their official listings. We make Astra, so we have kept the comparison factual and left ratings out. Comparison facts as of 5 November 2026, from each app’s official store listing and website. Features and prices change, so check the store listing before you download.

Short answer: The best tarot app is the one that fits how you read. Look for clear card meanings, the spreads you use, a journal or saved readings, reversal settings and a business model you are comfortable with. Astra focuses on quick daily, yes or no and love readings on Android and the web. Labyrinthos and Golden Thread, from the same team, focus on learning and journaling.

What should you look for in a tarot app?

Start with meanings. You want explanations that are clear, cover reversals and suggest how a card applies to love, work and growth. Then look at spreads: do you need a quick daily card, a three-card spread or a full Celtic Cross? Saved readings and a journal matter if you want to see patterns. Finally, check how the app is funded, whether through ads, subscriptions or one-off purchases, and whether it is available on your device.
