Leo Tarot Cards: Strength, Decan Cards and Court Card
By Julie Zhu · Published · 6 min read
Leo is the warm, expressive Fire sign of the lion, and its main tarot card shows exactly that: a figure gently holding a lion’s jaw. Strength in the Leo cards is about heart, courage and confidence, with the decan Wands exploring competition, recognition and standing your ground.
Short answer: The main tarot card for Leo is Strength, following the Golden Dawn attributions behind the Rider-Waite-Smith deck. Leo’s three decans belong to the Five of Wands, Six of Wands and Seven of Wands, and its court card is the Knight of Wands. Together they describe Leo’s themes for reflection, not a prediction of personality.

The Strength draws attention to Leo, ruled by the Sun. Leo energy is warm, brave and expressive, and the lion on the card is its symbol. The card shows Leo’s best side: confidence that does not need to roar.
